French Toast 5 Ways
When I say I LOVE breakfast food, I mean… do we even need other meals? (Just kidding, cheeseburger—you’re still my #1 for lunch.)
French toast is a classic, and it’s so easy to dress up. Whether you’re making a cozy weekend breakfast or something fun for a special occasion, here are 5 fun twists on this breakfast favorite:

1. Classic French Toast
You can’t go wrong with the OG.
- Whisk 2 eggs and a splash of milk.
- Dip slices of bread into the egg mixture.
- Cook in a greased skillet until golden on both sides.
- Top with powdered sugar and a drizzle of syrup. Perfection.
2. Cinnamon Sugar French Toast
For a sweeter take on the classic:
- Make the base recipe above.
- While it’s still warm, sprinkle with a mix of cinnamon and sugar (or spread a cinnamon sugar butter).
- Add syrup if you’re feeling fancy.
3. Cookie Butter French Toast (My personal favorite)
This one is heaven in breakfast form.
- Start with the classic base.
- Spread cookie butter on the cooked toast.
- Optional but recommended: a light drizzle of syrup on top.
Warning: may cause obsession.

4. Cap’n Crunch French Toast
Perfect for birthdays, brunch parties, or anytime you want to impress the kids (or your inner child):
- Whisk 3–4 eggs with a splash of milk and 1 tsp vanilla.
- Crush about half a box of Cap’n Crunch cereal (regular or with berries) in a zip-top bag.
- Dip bread into the egg mix, then coat with crushed cereal.
- Cook in a greased skillet until crispy and golden.
- Serve with powdered sugar, whipped cream, or syrup!
5. Rolled French Toast (Stuffed!)
This one’s a little extra—but worth it. Endless filling possibilities!
- Make your egg mixture as usual.
- Cut crusts off bread and flatten slices with a rolling pin.
- Add a filling (ideas below), roll them up, then dip in egg mixture.
- Cook seam-side down in a greased skillet until browned all over.
